About Dan
Dan Jung is the founder of Storia and a former care partner to his grandmother, who later developed dementia. Inspired by his family’s caregiving experience, Dan created Storia to help families and communities preserve the stories that shape their lives—turning memories and lived experiences into beautifully crafted photo memoir books.
Dan has shared this work through sessions with the Family Caregiver Alliance, the Institute on Aging, and the Harvard Alumni Successful Aging group.
Today, Dan is also building a community for family care partners, offering practical tools, resources, and stories drawn from real caregiving journeys. His work reflects a simple but meaningful belief: even as memory changes, a person’s story, identity, and connections continue to matter.
Breakout Experience
Remembering Together: Preserving Your Loved One’s Story
For someone living with dementia, their life story can be a powerful anchor—helping reconnect them with who they are while creating opportunities for meaningful conversation and connection.
In this interactive session, Dan will guide care partners through two approaches to preserving a loved one’s story:
• Gathering stories from family and friends to create a fuller picture of the experiences, relationships, and moments that have shaped your loved one’s life.
•. Gently inviting your loved one to share their own memories, focusing on the stories they are comfortable and able to tell.
Because every dementia journey is different, participants will also explore how these approaches can change as a loved one’s needs and abilities change.
Through brief teaching, hands-on practice, and shared discussion, participants will leave with gentle interviewing techniques, simple ways to capture memories, and practical ideas for beginning—or continuing—to preserve their loved one’s story.
Designed for family care partners supporting a loved one living with dementia or memory changes.
What Participants Will Take Away
Participants will gain practical ways to begin meaningful conversations, preserve important family memories, involve relatives and friends in gathering stories, and create opportunities for connection that honor the person beyond the diagnosis.
